About Jon Chavarria

My Name is Jon Chavarria, and I grew up in this district, I have known it and its people all my life and I am a proud Texan.

My father asked me why I want to run for office, I told him Im tired of seeing the people of my district drowning in debt from the rising cost of living; Im tired of seeing hard working families priced out of their communities. And I am tired of having to watch families get outbid on homes by large corporations, to see that same home rented back to them at double the cost.

I have seen first hand how families are buckling under the rising costs, and i have seen friends and their families cry out for better mental health after countless tragedies amount to what feels like a never-ending fatigue among the American people. I’ve seen our veterans struggling with the lack of proper care and mental health resources, falling through the cracks of our broken VA system, a battle they most surely do not deserve to fight on their home ground.

I am tired of watching those in my district struggle with these matters every day, while washington insiders and career politicans look the other away to fund endless culture wars that solve nothing, other than dampening the American Spirit.

That is not the Texan way, and it sure isn’t the American way: when matters get hard we look them dead on, strategize, and get to work. Im ready to get to work for you, thats why i am running for congress; to establish better housing rights, institute a mental health system for all Americans, to reinvest money going abroad back into our homes and families here.

I am running to show America that a Compassionate Conservative, with principles rooted in Family, Faith and Community can still lead with strength.
